Your First Steps

A clear path from curious to cared for.
Getting started at Seattle Sleep is not complicated, but it is intentional. This process is designed to respect your time, protect the quality of care, and make sure your first meaningful appointment is built on understanding, not guesswork.

Below is exactly how it works.

Step 1

Start Here

Before anything else, you’ll be asked to watch a short video explaining what your first visit looks like and how this practice works. This video covers:

. How our care model is different

. What participation looks like on both sides

. How we decide next steps together

If what you hear feels aligned, you can move forward. If not, we will gladly help you find a practice that better fits what you’re looking for. This is about clarity, not pressure.

Talk With Our Admin Team

If you have questions about onboarding, records, or logistics, you can schedule a short conversation with our administrative team. We use a Zoom-supported receptionist system designed to help you succeed with the process. This team can:

. Answer onboarding and portal question

. Help you understand what documents are needed

. Route questions appropriately

They are here to support you, not upsell you, and not rush you.

A 15-Minute Telehealth Conversation With Dr. Steve

Some patients prefer to meet briefly before committing to full care. If that’s you, you can request a short telehealth conversation with Dr. Steve. This is a low-pressure conversation where:

. We make sure expectations are aligned

. You can ask questions directly

. We decide together what makes sense next

There is no obligation. This step exists to build comfort and clarity.

Build Your Seattle Sleep Profile

If you choose to move forward, you’ll create your Seattle Sleep Profile. This includes:

. Uploading prior sleep studies and encounter notes

. Entering contact information for providers you’ve seen in the past two years

. Sharing your symptoms, history, and goals

This step is essential. Only once all relevant information is in place

will you be invited to schedule a full in-person visit. This ensures your appointment time is spent on thinking and planning, not collecting information you’ve already shared elsewhere.

Your First In-Person Visit

Your first visit is not rushed and not generic. Because your history has already been reviewed, this appointment is focused on:

. Evaluating airway and breathing patterns

. Assessing nasal function and structural contributors

. Screening for relevant cardiovascular or neurologic risk signals

. Connecting findings to how you feel and function day to day

This visit is built on your data, your story, and thoughtful clinical evaluation.

What to Expect Financially

Seattle Sleep bills medical insurance where appropriate, but there is also a comprehensive service fee associated with care here. We believe in being fully transparent so you know exactly what to expect before getting started.

For new patients, the initial visit is $295, along with a $575 special services fee. If treatment includes a custom oral device, that investment is $2,700.

These fees reflect the level of care provided, much of which falls outside what insurance typically covers but is essential to achieving meaningful results. This includes:

Before moving forward, you will have a clear understanding of what is covered by insurance and what is not. There are no surprises and no pressure, just clarity so you can make the best decision for your care.
